Laptop Randy I started playing guitar at 15 yrs.old & soon discovered the blues. Muddy Waters playing fascinated me & I tried to emulate his style. I knew he was using a slide but I was not aware of the bottleneck style. I had seen guys on the TV show 'Hee-Haw' playing the dobro so I began playing that way, holding the guitar across my knee & using a heavy steel bar. Soon I acquired a lap steel guitar & dug in. Later,I found out about bottleneck style but by then I was immersed in playing lap style & never looked back. I don't understand why there aren't more blues players using dobro's & lap steel guitars. Lap guitars rule! |
